Introduction
When running tests in a local PC environment, you can use the Firefox beta version to perform tests before the official release, just like with Chrome and Edge.
However, installing the Safari beta version will overwrite the existing stable version of Safari. Therefore, unlike Chrome or Edge, it is not possible to run the beta and stable versions side-by-side using separate installation paths.
This article introduces how to install the Safari beta version and run tests with it.
For instructions on running tests using beta versions of other browsers, please refer to the following pages:
Browser Installation
Download and install the Safari beta version from the following URL. You will need to sign in to Apple Developer with your Apple Account. However, downloading beta OS versions is possible with a free Apple Account.
Note: Installing the Safari beta version will overwrite the existing stable version of Safari. If you want to revert to the stable version, please reinstall the latest stable release via macOS Software Update.
Running Tests with the Beta Version
Since the Safari beta version is installed by overwriting the stable version in the same path, you do not need to specify a separate binary path for the beta version as you would with Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
