1. What is a user fixed IP?
When MagicPod iOS devices, Android Cloud devices or Cloud browsers access external networks, they will normally use IP addresses within the Public IP range; however, with a user fixed IP, your organization will use a dedicated fixed IP address that is assigned to you. The Public IP range are available for any MagicPod user to use. Allowing for access from a user fixed IP has made the test environment more secure.
2. Restrictions on user fixed IP
There are 2 restrictions for iOS cloud devices.
- Apps with identity pinning are not supported in less than iOS 14.
- iOS cloud devices will only be accessed with a user fixed IP when accessing a domain and associated subdomains that have been preconfigured for the organization.
These are due to limitations of the iOS simulator. Specifically, these are as follows:
|

Android Cloud device |
Cloud browser |

Access to a non-specified domain from an organization with a user fixed IP |

So, when user C, for example, who belongs to organization A with a user fixed IP and the other organization B, tries to access the domain configured in organization A, the following situation occurs.
- Use a user fixed IP for iOS/Android cloud devices launched in organization A projects
- The specified domain is not accessible for iOS cloud devices launched in organization B projects
- For Android Cloud devices launched in organization B projects, use The Public IP range
Whether access is possible is determined by the organization to which the project that launched the device belongs.
3. Method of using user fixed IP
To start using the user fixed IP, it is necessary to work on the MagicPod operation side. If you want to use this service, log in to MagicPod as the current organization owner and submit an inquiry, as follows, using the inquiry form in the lower right corner of the MagicPod screen. The operation will be completed in approx. three (3) business days. You will be contacted once it is complete.

4. Confirming the operation of user fixed IP
After the work is completed on the MagicPod operation side, confirm that the dedicated IP address shown above is set correctly and check the network communication. Confirm operation(s) as follows:
- Allow access from the dedicated connection source IP address displayed on the organization's configuration screen in your test environment
- When using the mobile app plan, check the connection to the test environment on your iOS Cloud device and Android Cloud device
- When using the browser plan, use the Cloud browser to connect to the test environment
